Learn Spanish in Barcelona, the city of Gaudí
Barcelona has an endless variety of attractions for a memorable stay in Spain: museums, bars, concerts, parks, exhibitions, restaurants, the Montserrat mountain and the Mediterranean beaches, along with close-by highlights such as Sitges and the Dali Museum in Figueras.
The image of Barcelona is closely associated with the work of the architect Antoni Gaudí, reflected in the uncommon dimensions of Barcelona’s second cathedral, the Sagrada Familia, in the imagery of the Parc Güell with its magnificent views over Barcelona, and in the city buildings such as La Pedrera.
Barcelona is also a city of the arts. Pablo Picasso spent many of his formative years in Barcelona, and the city also gave birth to Joan Miró and Antoni Tápies.
The renowned Catalan cuisine includes a wide gastronomic spectrum, from the humble «pan con tomate», crusty bread with tomato and olive oil, to the most sophisticated creations which can be savoured in the myriad of restaurants scattered throughout Barcelona, along with high standard international cuisine.
